My father grew up in the depression and worked from the age of 8, didn't hurt him one bit. gave him a work ethic that he instilled in me.
The only people who should be getting government assistance are people who have worked all their lives, paid into the system but for reason not their fault came on hard times.
An old person who worked for 60 years gets tossed out of their home for not paying a $500 property tax while a 20 something bum sits on his a$$ pumping out kids and gets all the money he needs! That is truly messed up!
And yes, I have seen the above situation more than once!
