And yet, in the Kentucky governor's race, with a 9.7% official unemployment rate, the Democrat candidate seems to be pulling ahead. With his mega-sized campaign war chest, we shouldn't assume that Obama will be easy to defeat. There are still too many "true believers" out there who still think we "haven't given him a chance", and too many sheeple who are convinced that "true socialism hasn't been tried yet."

Rich, this is the question that really bothers me. Is it Soros trolls, or Chicago machine "plumbers", or the Alinskyist leftover Left? Or a self-identified "conservative" or "libertarian" or "Republican"? If so, that person has a lot to answer for.

This demonstrates the strength of the opposition to conservative candidates of good character and deep moral conscience. Was Mr Cain truly unaware of how that opposition "works"? Surely he must have taken note of the poisonous attacks leveled by the media against Clarence Thomas during his confirmation hearings, and against Sarah Palin and family during the 2008 presidential campaign-- including her disabled infant son, 14-year-old daughter and another unmarried teenage daughter who became pregnant. This has the smell of Chicago political machine, of Alinskyist organizations, of Soros and his front groups. If a Republican gave the lead to Politico, that person is accountable to the entire conservative base.

Actually, here's a partial answer to my own question! The "source" is a guy named Chris Wilson, who once worked FOR Tony Fabrizio, whose survey research firm polled for the Nat'l Restaurant Assn at the time of the alleged "incidents". This has the smell of Chicago politics all over it... I can't get over the idea that Axelrod & Co. might have had a role in digging up the information and providing it to someone they knew would be tempted to use it... And why isn't the MSM taking a closer look at the "former National Restaurant Association staffer"? Who is this guy and what are HIS politics?
