No, actually, the private companies building the pipeline purchase rights-of-way across the properties along the route - same as with underground utilities and the rest of the pipeline network already in place. The government doesn't "seize" anything.

Recycling is fine. Conservation is fine. But sometimes greenies cross the line. They expect you and me to go jobless and hungry so they can save a porcupine.
