As a retired conservative full professor at a community college, I am well aware of the problems we have in the liberal miasma that is "higher education". Fortunately, my discipline, information technology, was basically apolitical. However, as a department chair, I always felt that our administration short-changed my department when it came to budgeted resources. And then there was the speech teacher who asked if the Reagan poster on my office wall was a dartboard.

If you ever are fortunate enough to visit Israel, you would immediately realize that the Israelis must be tough in order to protect their citizens. Just venture into Palestinian Authority controlled areas such as Bethlehem and Bethany and note the condition of streets and buildings. These are not the result of Israeli oppression, but of Palestinian culture. Some would say that the "poor Palestinians" simply have been the victims of a two-part economy. But common sense should remind you that they have the same opportunities as their Israeli brethren, but choose a different path.
