which parts Anne?
I am willing to give the tea partiers their say about bank bailouts. There is actually probably a lot more common ground here with progressives than many here might think. Deficit spending too, is also an issue I think many could find common ground on. However, I would give these people more credibility here if they showed a consistency in their outrage during the deficit spending that ran amock in the Regan years, and continued through George W. The concern about our "grandkids" paying our bills didn't resonate too high when George W waged two wars off the books, while cutting taxes, and increasing the debt by signing into law Medicare Part D with no bargaining leverage to the pharm companies. I would also extend more credibility to...
OK the numbers according to foxnews.com (an unimpeachable source for TH'ers I'm sure):

10's of thousands. Not millions. Sorry Ms. Byrd, that's a big difference : )

But, numbers aside, what does it really mean, if there were thousands or millions? The question is, who are the Tea Partiers? If they are the same hard core right wing conservative base, which we know...

Philosophical Gap on Health Care

LOL the photo in the upper left hand corner of this article says all you need to know about the so-called opposition: a bunch of gray-heads holding up signs saying "No to socialized medicine" while they suck up our socialized Medicare dollars.

As Armstrong says, liars or fools?

Armstrong also conveniently ignores policy rescission practices, pre-existing conditions, and other bad faith practices well known by those great guys at the insurance company.

Thank you proud liberal. Armstrong also conveniently ignores costs for the insured. This is not just about covering the uninsured, it is about the exponential increases in health insurance premiums that have outpaced wages and inflation 3-4x the rate of the former. Those so-called 80% who are "satisfied" with their coverage will be singing a different tune in the next 10 years as health insurance gobbles up increasing chunks of income, while their wages stay flat. At the same time, those 80% can also expect in return, drops in coverage and increased deductibles and copays. Getting less value for your money, nope the system works great, if you're a conservative who is primarily focused with stopping health care reform that will lock out...

The Racism of the Black Community

Congrats on calling this out as it should be: yet another attempt by a conservative columnist to stir up racial anxiety and polarization between their base (mostly white) against the "them" (in this case, blacks). I realize you typically post as a conservative, but you have to had noticed your conservative padres on this site posting comments that reflect exactly this viewpoint: "Let me enlighten you a little Ben. We don't all live in closed ghettos or federally-funded housing projects. We don't all sit around caucusing on how to stick it to "whitey." We don't hold Obama rallies, even those who do live in the projects, taking polls, doing secret handshakes, and singing "Mmm-mmm-mmm, Barack Hussein Obama!""

Winds shifting on gay marriage

Hey guys, as a straight mother of one who supports gay marriage can we cool the language on children and childbearing? ex: "Astroboy, "crotch droppings"? ROFLMAO!" Resorting to nasty commentary on your side only brings the argument down to the "knuckle draggers" and believe me, this is just what they want to see so they can point and say "see gays hate hetero marriage and child bearing and want to end it!". Also, what of lesbian couples who bear children, "crotch droppings" as well?

A Health Care Plan on Life Support

Yes it's funny isn't it? The same Repub's who wanted to gut Medicare in the 90's and in the 2000's are now flipping the script and howling about Medicare cuts.

Folks read the bill. The end of life counseling that you all are using to scare seniors about is simply a clause that requires Medicare to PAY for end of life counseling sessions, once every five years, at the REQUEST of the patient. If they are terminally ill, then the payment will be for every 2 years or so. It is not MANDATORY at all. Stop the hysterics and put down the Kool Aid yourselves.
