This American will not be watching.
The last time I looked Detroit was a part of the United States of America. Instead of pointing and laughing at the plight of the city, it would be far better, more moral, and wiser to suggest ways to bring the city back to prosperity and soundness. There is a saying in the Bible that, "God will not be mocked." To further that when someone falls we should not laugh at them, we should help them up. I am not talking about money here. In America there are many creative people and ideas that can help Detroit and the rest of the country. One such idea is to realign the debt of the nation. Check it out: http://www.debtrealignment.com Or we can watch as the whole country goes the way of Detroit. We shall not be laughing.
First line above should read: Mr. Ventura: If you did not say what was alleged, then just say, "I did not say that."
Mr. Ventura: If you did not say what was alleged, then just I did not say that. If you did, forget it. If the events did not go down as described, then just tell the American people. If they did, just drop it. After all is said and done you are suing the wife of a fallen brother-in-arms, who is now a widow. Right now you cannot "win." If you win in court, you lose in the court of public opinion. If you lose in court you lose on both fronts. But, if you drop the suit - guess what? - you win. That's my take, Sir.
The writer of the article is wrong: The "Greatest Generation" is not gone. Many are still alive. And their memory will be with us always. God Bless them and God Bless America.
