It's a sure sign the middle class will pay the tax increase and business and rich folks will not. IF these businesses really wanted to pay more tax, they could. They don't. And they won't. Happy New Year will mean less money, more cost for health care and more cost for everything. Pass the Prozac. We're at Brave New World.

So, how is "taxing the Rich more" supposed to work when "the Rich" have mechanisms to shelter their money and hide just how rich they really are? Oh yeah, it isn't supposed to work, because our politicians and leaders want those same shelters. So, just like exempting themselves from the laws they force on us, they set it up so they get to keep their toys and then bully us into giving them our toys. At what point will Americans require it's leaders to suffer for their own bad decisions standing beside us, and not above us?

Barack Obama “gets” it.

"The president gets it," says the chief executive officer and chairman of Honeywell, in a Reuters article.

“David Cote, chief executive and chairman of Honeywell,” says Reuters, “told reporters that Obama understood a combination of tax measures and reforms of social programs will be necessary to address the so-called fiscal cliff and beyond that, the deficit.”

I’m really glad that Obama met with business leaders to straighten out that pesky “tax” thing that the rest of us have been so confused about. I’m equally comforted that the major wire services...
