Perhaps the original was flawed, or the one after the 1st amendment was flawed or the one after... etc The constitution is not the bible. It's a wonderful document and essential and it is so good that it provides for ways to be corrected as time passes. Oh and Islamist citizens of the U.S. are protected by the same constitution that you are.

The government collects money from it's citizens and wildly spends it without considering opinions from these same citizens. Until lawmaking methods change, pork is unavoidable. Dr Paul votes against all bills which contain unconstitutional elements and speaks out against pork barrel spending. Until things change, the only power he has to return tax money to his constituents is to place his own earmarks in each bill. All the rhetoric against pork is just a lot of hot air until and unless congress is willing to fix it. Line item veto anyone? A non-interventionist foreign policy will reduce terrorism dramatically and in time will end it.

As it is now, the economy and the government is on the brink of collapse because of the fascist policy of allowing the power elite to own our politicians in effect giving ownership of the government to an individual or group. Ask any of the other candidates who keep tripping over Ron Paul supporters on the way to their own ralleys. #8.
