Sadly, Townhall doesn't seem to be able to attract a real copy editor. That's one thing - and the ONLY thing - I'll say for the New York Times; they're very serious about the form of their writing.

Blame it on an intern - if spell-check doesn't alert them to a mistake, most young people get in a hurry because they think they got it right the first time.
