Is This Our America Anymore?

Wow...
Here's an interesting article partly about a gay soldier who was a bomb disposal technician in Afghanistan. He disabled road-side bombs and cleaned up other Soviet-era munitions that the insurgents used against us. He doesn't quite fit into the assumption that all gay people are limp-wristed fairies, or that if DADT was repealed, suddenly the Village People would appear in uniform. http://www.salon.com/news/opinion/feature/2010/12/01/gene_lyons_dadt
Reading the news, it appears there are some Wikileaks people in the Boston area who helped Manning with some software that allowed small amounts of data to be copied at a time. Thus, over time, the data amounted to a large dump, but individually, it was maybe only a few files at a time, which seemed innocuous. Manning joins the ranks of Aldrich Ames, Robert Hanssen, the Rosenbergs, the Walkers, etc.
Agreed. However, that's not what Ann wants to push nor is it what the Hard Right wants. Read her allegations and "witty" remarks about what she thinks gay people do, like, and even wear. That should provide enough of a glimpse inside the wheelhouse to tell you where she's going and what drive her. Gay = evil incarnate, according to Ann.
Yay! Will you come along too to prove your manly might?
For once I actually agree with you. I am curious how much help Bradley Manning had in this. One guy could not have possibly downloaded everything. That seems all too convenient and simple. The State Department had to have someone or multiple people, who think like Julian Assange. Read the postings online about it, and it seems, 1/3 of the population seem to think Wikileaks is a good thing and want more to be disclosed.
So you buy the entire package that gay is bad (dangerous, evil, etc.)? That we shouldn't be allowed to do anything except be flight attendants for JetBlue or cook something tasty with our spice racks, or that we wear chaps? Again, reread her allegations about what we do or like or even wear. Then, you should see the hate and fear that needs to be corrected and banished for all time.
Bradley Manning is a traitor, just like the others I listed. He'll most likely end up in Leavenworth or some other Supermax prison. However, his sexuality Ann wants to make out to be much more important than it really is. This really isn't about Wikileaks, but, is about her hatred of gays. Reread all of her "witty" remarks and questions about what she thinks gay people do or like.
Smart woman? No. Politically shrewd? Yes. Bomb-thrower and hell-raiser? Yes.
Her point is as consistent as ever: gay = evil incarnate. Bradley Manning is the "poster boy" for her point, and many people will whole-heartedly agree with that assertion. According to her, gay people cannot be trusted, are dangerous, are devious, are threatening to the safety and security of the country, and should be placed somewhere else where someone can keep an eye on them. As proof: Bradley Manning, the Cambridge 5, allegedly gay Soviet spies (even though being gay is still punishable by the death penalty in Russia), etc. What point did I miss? Peter LaBarbera couldn't have said it better himself.
