if the lesson was 'tolerance and acceptance' as the lesson plan claims, why is the kid kicked out of the class? you can tell me a duck is actually a dog, it doesn't make your statement the truth. where's the discussion and where's 'the whole point of the exercise' being played out? the whole point of the exercise was to determine those strong in their faith and to get those voices out of the class. how do I know? that's what happened. get real people.

He was most likely thrown out because he was creating a disturbance by arguing with the professor about the lesson. No one else is paying to hear that kid's opinion.

So any student who dares to ask or answer questions should be thrown out of school because "No one else is paying to hear that kid's opinion"? Seriously, just how moronic can you be? Oh the tyranny of liberal, academic stupidity!

In other words, "tolerance" is a one-way street in Liberal Land.

Kimberly, the class description was to discuss this scenario.....according to the follow up that is. YOU can not possibly defend this action, unless you agree with this? Are you a Christian?

i'm not a liberal... A professor has every right to throw a kid out of he is wasting the rest of the class's time.
Anominus Wrote: Mar 22, 2013 1:14 PM
Fine, you may not a liberal, but your argument labels you as something of a numbskull, which may be why people are confusing you with the typical liberal.

Prove that the kid was wasting the rest of the class' time and that "wasting time" was the reason for his suspension.

Kimbery Wrote: Mar 22, 2013 1:28 PM
Perhaps if you went to Auburn you would know how to spell "ad homonem"
Anominus Wrote: Mar 22, 2013 1:28 PM
I was thinkin' more along the lines of Berkeley, pascagoulapappy.

They do spell very creatively on the Plain--but I never encountered even an Auburn philosophy major who thought "ad hominem" was spelled "ad homonem." Now that's plum ignernt !

A Florida Atlantic University student said he was suspended from class after he refused a professor’s directive to stomp on a piece of paper with the word “Jesus” written on it.

“I’m not going to be sitting in a class having my religious rights desecrated,” student Ryan Rotela told television station WPEC. “I truly see this as I’m being punished.”

Rotela, who is a devout Mormon, said the instructor in his Intercultural Communications class told the students to write the name “Jesus” on a sheet of paper. Then, they were told to put the paper on the floor.
