The Education Blob

Just starting as the Executive Director of a Charter School, I have found that the Public School District hates us even more than the private. We do more with less and manage the less with actual business common sense (which isn't so common anymore!). I come from being the President of a private College for a number of years and public Colleges/Universities hated us too. But one of the best tools to transform our educational system k-12 and Higher Ed, is to break the Unions of the K-12, Tenure for Higher Ed. When the ED bubble burst and it is for H.ED. by transforming K-12 that Charter and Private AND Home Schools is doing we will be there to do the same for H.Ed!!!
Since progressives want government to run health care, let's look at what government management did to K-12 education. While most every other service in life has gotten better and cheaper, American education remains stagnant.

Spending has tripled! Why no improvement? Because K-12 education is a virtual government monopoly -- and monopolies don't improve.

In every other sector of the economy, market competition forces providers to improve constantly. It's why most things get better -- often cheaper, too (except when government interferes, as in health care).

Politicians claim that education and health care are different -- too important to leave to market...
