As Blizzard Nemo Strikes, Global Warming Won’t Be Far Behind

I find it fascinating that the right wing is so good at dodging the facts on global warming. Apparently if you read the science, global warming is not about snow and rain and 100deg summers, it is about average temperatures. Global averages to be precise. Changes in 10ths of a degree effect 1000's of miles and billions of cubic tons of ocean water. The end result is changes in weather patterns. A whole bunch of fluid dynamics but we'll have to save that for the advanced class. For now, forget arguing about the causes of GW for just a second, at lease start to understand what it is before you go denying it.

Sun Spots....the greatest contributor that effects the Earth's climate..and the grant-dollar chasing scientist's leave out the Sun...go figure.....BIG MONEY

Well, its MORE fascinating to wath left wingers that believe all the false garbage that the global warmist send me more money crowd put out as "facts which don't fit and require constant manipulation and changes with non conforming "facts" dropped out. The global warming crowd have been caught in so many lies and manipulations of facts that it has become OBVIOUS its a bad theory. AlGore had a boat load of lies and false facts in his movie, but it made him rich. What you just spewed is a theory, NOT truth and facts. SO buzz off to your never never land.

If the Anthropogenic Global Warming Hypothesis is really science, what is your dispositive data set?

PS-- what changes in weather patterns? A blizzard in New England in the middle of winter is a "change"?
KPar Wrote: Feb 09, 2013 6:33 PM
billions of "cubic tons"? Is that like making the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs?

Only when the Heisenberg compenstors are calibrated in Farads per furlong/fortnight squared.

How do you even define, much less accurately measure, any such thing as "average" temperatures of the Earth's surface & atmosphere?

But, I get that you apparently believe anthropogenic CO2-induced climate change is a serious problem that needs to be solved. So, are you serious enough to support:
(1) "Manhattan projects" to develop promising sources of intensive almost unlimited CO2-free energy like nuclear fusion & satellite-based solar, brushing aside stupid fringe-leftist objections to the idea of plentiful energy?
(2) Trade sanctions against countries that manufacture things for export to us, using coal power that doesn't comply with standards imposed on American energy generators?
Six04 Wrote: Feb 09, 2013 5:50 PM
100% support fusion reactors and look forward to the day when it will work.

(3) Shutting down bogus incentives for such wasteful boondoggles as ethanol subsidies & open-ended grants to politically connected ventures that claim to manufacture solar panels & wind generators, but just go belly-up while the pols' pals walk away with wads of taxpayer $$$? Anyone sincere about CO2-induced climate change ought to be livid about the resources wasted on such.
(4) Not using the ACO2ICC doctrine as an excuse for growing government on a socialist model, which would ensure failure, but focusing on actually reducing CO2 emissions?
(5) Rejecting measures discredited as means of reducing ACO2ICC like "cap & trade" ration & taxation schemes?
Six04 Wrote: Feb 09, 2013 5:57 PM
Does Tread realize that hydraulic fracturing was a government project back when the industry laughed at the concept.

Now look who is producing more energy than another nation.
Don't Tread On Me3 Wrote: Feb 09, 2013 5:59 PM
(6) Rejecting any moves to put the UN in charge of energy or to tax it, as it has demonstrated utter incompetence to accomplish anything, but aspires to be the totalitarian government of the world? (That's why its creature the IPCC insists despite evidence on a "scientific consensus" favoring ACO2ICC) If we need to focus on reducing CO2, let's shelve the distracting give-power-to-the-UN controversy.

Hey genius, when has climate not changed?
Six04 Wrote: Feb 09, 2013 5:51 PM
Your getting ahead of yourself caveman. Just get the temperature aspect correct then we can move on to more complex issues.
Simplecaveman Wrote: Feb 09, 2013 5:58 PM
I suppose that you are not aware of rising and falling sea levels in the geologic past. That shouldn't be too complex of a fact for you to grasp,
Six04 Wrote: Feb 09, 2013 6:04 PM
Why would you make that supposition?
Simplecaveman Wrote: Feb 09, 2013 6:10 PM
Liberals are mostly mindless in thinking that this is the only time in the earth's history that climate has changed, and push forth the fraud that humans are solely responsible for influencing the earth's climate. Somehow, all of the variables that influence climate - ocean temperatures, ocean currents, volcanic activity above and below sea level, sun spots, Milankovitch Cycles, water vapor as a heat trapping gas, methane emissions, etc... have negligible affect on the climate today.
Colonialgirl Wrote: Feb 09, 2013 7:39 PM
They can't even get the temperature correct; NASA has been caught lying and "adjusting" figures, there has been NO temperature increase in the last 20 years; they can;t even get honest "global" temperature readings correct because the weather stations have not been maintained in the cooler regions like Siberia. Sorry but "Global Warming" thanks to man kind has been a HOAX from the start designed to raise taxes and enrich politicians and some countries.
Colonialgirl Wrote: Feb 09, 2013 7:40 PM
Simple minded folk like you swallow all the garbage from politicians.

But commies love propaganda.

The point is, if there is global warming, we didn't cause it, just like we din't end the ice age. BTW, there are more Polar Bears in the Arctic now than there have ever been since they started counting them. Oops, Al.

Blizzard Nemo is bearing down on the Northeast- hence the term nor’easter to describe it- so prepare for the folks at Fashion Week, now being held in New York City, to be out in force battling the storm.

“The organizers of New York's Fashion Week,” reports the CSMonitor,  “a closely watched series of fashion shows held under a big tent – said they will have extra crews to help with snow removal and will turn up the heat and add an extra layer to the venue.”

We can only hope that they wear furs.

Because we’ll need blizzards of hilarity...
