Mike, I am fully behind the defense of life and skewering the indefensible positions of the proponents of death, but this is just too far. These are the remains of the children of God, a modern-day holocost. We are in the midst of the 40 Days for Life campaign. Let us pray for an end to this slaughter of innocents.

You are not making very clear that "Pull The Plug On ObamaCare" is taken from a column by Peggy Noonan in the Wall Street Journal.

Your ending in the second message is more like a clue that proper attribution: "More from Peggy Noonan on how JFK reacted after the humiliation at the Bay of Pigs:

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB100014240529702048844045743 62971349563340.html?mod=rss_opinion_main"

Let's use quotation marks and proper attribution. I only recognized what it was because I had already read the column. Proper form exists for that very good reason.

Drat! It appears the liberals have taken another perfectly good word and made it foul!

This one sentence confuses me,"Throughout history, egalitarians have been among the most arrogant people."

Egalitarian is defined as, "Affirming, promoting, or characterized by belief in equal political, economic, social, and civil rights for all people." (American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition)

Is there a connotation for "egalitarian" of which I am unaware? Does it imply a belief in some government power imposing some system of equality?

I am a conservative, which denotes a belief in the Constitution, equal protection and equal rights, which to me denotes egalitarian. Of course, I believe in equal treatment under the law and equal opportunity, not equal outcomes. I certainly do not...

I am posting this days late, but I think it worth saying just in case anyone ever looks.

I think the whole bunch of you have missed the boat. Not that I think you are wrong to point out the harm that feminists have done or the confusion of the modern male and the frustration of the by-them-misled modern female. No, what I think you've missed is that TV and commercials in particular have been putting down men and making them the butt of jokes for years now. They have presented a whole world-view in which men are at best fools who need the guiding and saving hand of a woman who is clearly superior and must be a saint for putting up with him. This is all part of the liberal politically-correct nonsense which is against the...

Dr. Sowell,

While I agree with you point about this all-too-common exercise, I also think that the more your common sense reaches these teachers, the better. Your writing is clear and concise, which is also a great example. Perhaps you should directly write to the teacher as well. Plant your seeds as you can, and hope they are watered and cared-for so that they may indeed bloom in time. You are a great asset; broader exposure would be a boon to this society.

I am sorry I don't have your gift of clarity but I hope you find the encouragement I intend. Keep up the good fight.

The other necessary thing the Republicans need to do is point out which party was formed to fight slavery (and bigamy) and which party was the party of slavers, Dredd Scott, and Segregation. Which party was the majority behind the Civl Rights Act of 1964 and which party fought civil rights for years and years, the party of Jim Crow. Hint: those opposed to civil rights were the majory in the House of Representatives for more than 40 years. Another hint: to which party did George Wallace belong? Who is the Senator who was formerly the Grand Dragon of the Klu Klux Klan?

Another point to make is that we oppose Affirmative Action not because we want to oppress the black citizen and other minorities, but because we believe the...

There are some intriguing ideas in this article, but some of it violates true Conservative and Constitutional principles, (which IMO is redundant.)

The first of which is Education. The Federal Government has no role here. The first thing to do for "Education Reform" is abolish the Department of Education. Next is repeal all laws and portions of laws that effect this area. It is simply not in the Federal Government's area of authority and responsibility, except for Government employees children in embassies and the like. This is a State and Local Government area. More sanity can be addressed more readily at the most local possible level. The further away from home, the less can be effected by the citizens.

Secondly,...

Further, the "end of major combat operations" that was announced was also exactly correct. The fight to defeat the Iraqi military and remove Saddam Hussein from power WAS accomplished and those operations were at an end. The Iraqi military that had not been destroyed was stripping off their uniforms, throwing down their weapons, and running away. They were a defeated army and we were victorious! We were trying to move into all the regions and major cities of the country just to fill the vacuum. The guerrilla-style fighting - not actually "insurgents" for the most part as they were mainly invaders from neighboring countries - was not yet begun and had not been anticipated. The anticipated work was one of pacification of Saddam's...

The "infamous "Mission Accomplished" banner atop the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln" ? Are you kidding me? You are promoting - or at least accepting - that cannard? Give me a Break! That criticism was liberal slander of the 1st Order intended to harm the Administration by its political enemies. This is just one more lie from the opponents who believe that any stick to hit Pres. Bush was a good thing, regardless of the truth or the welfare of our military, even though they were in harm's way. These people gave aid and comfort to our enemies in time of war for their own political gain. They very nearly managed to flush all our treasure and sacrifices, by causing us to loose the war and condemn the Iraqis to chaos and destruction, to gain...
