I have not previously read anything by this author, but was intrigued by his premise. He might have had a better chance at convincing me that the premise was correct if he had taken the effort to use correct grammar (or at least hire an editor). Surely the author did not mean to say we are short-sided. At 6'5" tall, I may be short sighted, but I am definitely not short-sided. Also, maybe Jimmy Carter would have had a more successful presidency if he had positioned himself as the antidote to Nixonian corruption instead of the anecdote. All government expenditures are made from general revenues. There is no special fund for SS, it is all smoke and mirrors.
