Is America Still Making Men?

Besides sports teams and the military, men can bond through civic organizations such as the Knights of Columbus,or, perhaps unwisely, Masonic and Rosicrucian Lodges. City Chess Club,
Fishing Club. Up North I used to check out a great philately shop where there's always 3 or 4 men conversing about stamp collecting. We customers knew each others names. I never saw a woman in that shop. There's a lot of things that women have little interest in. Last buoys

Drumming into Darkness

The Catholic Church has kept God's word alive in Haiti through the centuries. It is the apotheosis of a church beset by occult practces. Spirit possession, magic spells, polytheism, pseudo hagiography, blood sacrifice, etc. and a complex cosmology, what we call Voodoo, is widely practiced. Jesus is consigned to minor Godhood. The Catholic Church has been a bulwark against this benighted New World religion Voodoo and continues to be Haiti's best hope. Columbia could use a reliable ally, as the US has been anything but a staunch one. The unratified Free Trade agreement is dying on the withering vine. With the Russians already so buddy-buddy with Venezuela, a Columbia-Israel strategic alliance would be a great thing; I hope it works out, this is the first mention I've noted of it.

Tobacco Truth Gets Smoked

One of the first things the Obama administration did was raise cigarette taxes to pay for S/CHIP (children's health insurance). The vast majority of smokers earn less than $250,000 a year, in fact the poor are overrepresented in the smoking population, so that's THE big Obama campaign promise broken right there. Where would state governments be without tobacco taxes and lawsuit damage awards from tobacco companies? Profit on a $6 pack of cigarettes is about 10 cents. Still, I quit about 4 years ago, I've saved thousands, my teeth are whiter, I don't stink like cigarettes,
and I've got my senses of smell and taste back.
Give some thought to quitting. I used that prescription pill, Chantix, from my doctor.
