15 Things That Are Not Okay For Liberals To Do

As a liberal, I've never heard of most of the people you claim are liberals, question how you know they are always liberal, and demand to know why it is that these unknown people are supposed to be speaking for liberals in general. What I find most telling is that, in a post where you bemoan the supposed hatred of the left, you demonstrate a clear hatred towards the left, and a clear "us vs them" mentality that is destructive to constructive discourse. I could make an equal list of conservatives doing or saying ridiculous, hateful and wrong-headed things, but what would that prove? This list and it's accompanied post are just as wrong and destructive as anything you find on the list.

I don't recall that this article called for violence, dishonesty or ad hominem attacks even one time.

No hatred of liberals has been demonstrated in this article. A little vitriol against the ideology that leads people to dependence, abandonment of principle and eventual malfeasance, sure. But none against the people themselves.

Love the sinner, hate the sin.

You can? Really?

OK, let's see it. I call your bluff.

Find me some conservative group that protested someone's home. Find some prominent conservatives who accused people of racism for political reasons. Find me some prominent conservative who advocates lying about opponents--or called for violence against them, or publicly celebrated their deaths.

Find me a conservative who disrupted a speech by opponents by throwing glitter or pie or something else on the speaker, or by pulling the fire alarm. Find me a conservative who hacked into an opponent's email account and distributed the info to the press (or, for a bonus, who cheered when the government did it to some opponent). Find me any prominent conservative who chose some group that's "supposed" to be conservative and threatened them and told them they should commit suicide because they didn't vote for a conservative candidate.

Find me a conservative who photoshopped the heads of an opponent's daughters onto porn models and published the pictures nationwide, who created porno movies featuring actresses pretending to be various figures, or who told us about how they'd like to "hate-f**k" a female opponent (or, in the case of Dan Savage's urges regarding Santorum, a male one... Speaking of Dan Savage and Santorum, find me any prominent conservative who made a deliberate effort to find some utterly disgusting substance and name it after one of their opponents.).

An equal list wouldn't require all those things, because John Hawkins didn't run through all the stunts the Left pulls (he didn't mention the folks accusing us of the Boston bombing, for example, or the "Trig is Bristol's daughter and has FAS" rumors, or every other word out of Al Sharpton's maw), but I'm curious to see how many of these items you could actually find.

My bet is if it ain't zero, it's pretty close.

Or, in another example, the student getting suspended for throwing a grenade. Why am I supposed to assume this is because of liberalism or that liberals generally approve of this?

2) I agree it's wrong to publish the name of gun-owners in some weird attempt at inciting something. But, at the same time, there have been conservatives who have published the same information about abortion providers and such, in an attempt to scare them. Both sides are in err, should we also then call conservatives the things Mr. Hawkins calls all liberals?

Just as an example. My point was that we shouldn't let a few liberals define liberalism, just as we shouldn't let a few conservatives define conservatism, or a few radicals define a religion.

Publishing the name of an abortion provider operating a business is different than publishing the name of a private citizen. Businesses are already in the public record.

It was the home addresses. There's also a concerted effort by a small number of people who are conservatives to kill abortion providers.

Many liberals have come to believe the rules of morality, decency, and good behavior don't apply to them. You see, since they're liberal they think that no matter how racist, sexist, violent, dehumanizing, evil or disgusting their behavior may be, they're still good people just by virtue of the fact that they're liberals. Of course, not every progressive feels that way, but almost no one on the Left who disagrees has the courage to speak out against the horrific behavior of his fellow liberals. That's understandable if you think about it. Just as a member of the KKK would fear...
