Why Did Mitt Romney Lose?

It was the Teatards that lost it. People won't vote for the likes of Jenny Beth Miller and her ilk. Angry, idiotic, controlling people who actually believe we care what she thinks. Conservatives will continue to lose because people don't like or trust them. They can't even get a candidate through the primary process to the nomination. Their own fellow Pubbies won't vote for them, let alone the folks who vote in the general. Conservatives are their own worst enemies--nasty, instrusive, pompous and obnoxious. It's easy to ignore them now. After all, there are more of us than there are of you--and Tuesday proved that. Get used to being irrelevant, mocked and ignored. Change or lose. It's that simple.

Name one conservative core priniciple that needs to change: Small government (that which governs best governs least), low taxes (people know better what to do with their money better than any government ever could), etc. No social issues, no racism charges, just CORE conservative principles.

duh.. people do vote on social issues....and cons. position on taxes need to change.... right now the rich make out with tax breaks, the mid class gets screwed.... thats cons. ideology

I said name any core principle which is, on its face, bad. And don't say "duh". You are supposed to be tolerant if you are a liberal.

so u want to generalize and say that small government is good, low taxes is good,,, well that is too specific, of course those are good principles. its where u cut taxes and what services you cut that define dems and libs... ur question is very simplistic.

Thank you for replying in a calm manner. And you are right. The tax code needs to be reformed. Self reliance needs to be reinforced because if you count on someone else's money to sustain yourself, you cannot help yourself when that money runs out.

Name a single time that a Republican has actually reduced the deficit or decreased government since maybe Eisenhower. This is the biggest lie you guys have been fed.

Once entitlements are given, taking them away becomes very difficult. Maybe the best course of action is not to give entitlements in the first place, I don't know. If you are afraid of being called all manner of names when you try to be fiscally responsible, you are hesitant to act.

so no social security , med benefits for soldiers, welfare , etc... be prepared for riots, looting robbery par none...i say stop with the tax breaks exemptions for the rich

And getting people relying on themselves, and not the government.

Of course, virtually every American who follows politics closely will posit an explanation for why Mitt Romney came up short in 2012. But Sean Trende’s analysis over at Real Clear Politics seems to be the most insightful -- and plausible. Take a look at the following chart embedded in his must-read article:

Conventional wisdom tells us that Republicans lost because they failed to reach out to Hispanics, African-Americans and young people. And to a certain extent that is
