Yes, we can see what the educational system has done to the kids. Try getting change from a cashier if they have to do it in their head. Quite embarrassing for all.

Sometimes i will tell a cashier what my change will be as soon as the total is rung up and I hand them my cash. Some seem to think it's downright amazing.

How true - and how very sad. When I was young the grocer used to add a column of numbers in seconds on my bag for all that was inside then ring up the total and count my change (if there was any). I used to go home and checkk the math and there never once was a mistake. That was when people didn't go much beyond high school or even complete it. It's amazing how "evolving" dumbs the kids down. They're not stupid they're just treated thatway in so many classrooms.

"Progressive" reformers denounced Western civilization requirements, the Founding Fathers and the Great Books as racist. They attacked traditional grammar classes as irrelevant in modern life. They deemed ability grouping of students (tracking) bad for self-esteem. They replaced time-tested rote techniques and standard algorithms with fuzzy math, inventive spelling and multicultural claptrap.
