Why they are still getting paid is beyond me. All pay for each and every elected official should stop now from the pres on down. They were elected to do their job and have not nor been encouraged to for four years. In the private sector, they'd be long gone.

You can't just pick and choose which parts of the Constitution you want to uphold.

The House of Representatives has passed legislation known as the "No Budget, No Pay Act" to raise the debt ceiling, funding the government through borrowing until May. The legislation includes a clause that requires politicans pass a budget or receive no pay.

 The vote was 285 to 144, largely on the back of Republican support.

Most House Democrats spoke out against the bill. Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi called the salary provision a "joke" and Minority Whip Steny Hoyer called the bill a "political gimmick" that perpetuates uncertainty.
