Only one problem with your post. John McCain was not a worthy candidate and you will not build party unity around him or any other similar, left leaning Republican. Limbaugh is not the spokesperson for the Republican party. He is the spokesperson for those millions of members of his audience that think the same way he does but don't have the means to broadcast their opinions. To build unity you have to run candidates that reflect the party members. Not someone's idea of what the party should be.

"Can you explain credibly why Paris Hilton deserves to inherit millions?" Because those millions belonged to her parents and her parents passed them on to her? "It was the tens of trillions of dollars in largely-unregulated credit default swaps - sidebets on the mortgages..." Otherwise known as insurance against loss due to lending to high credit risks. (ie. "...buyers they knew would never make the payments.")

The next time someone picks your pocket and blows your hard earned cash and credit on themselves don't worry about it. No need to get all bent out of shape over it. They were just acting in their own self interest.

For the same reason that we have the electoral college. If they were elected by state wide popular vote most of the attention would go to the high population areas and the rest of the state would do without. Just take a look at the Bush/Gore election. Gore would have won the election with the popular vote based almost entirely on his strength in the big cities such as Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Boston, San Fran, etc., etc. Flyover country (that's us) wouldn't be almost irrelevant. That isn't good for We the People no matter who is winning.
it isn't a one to one ratio. uncle sam takes a slice off the top so it's more like stealing a dollar from peter to give paul 60 cents. how is taking money out of the economy a stimulant?
Jesus said to render unto ceasar what is ceasar's and unto God what is God's. It seems that now I can render unto to Uncle Sam a double portion and I don't have to worry, my salvation is secured.
they don't need the ban. just the fight to have one is moving the drilling rigs to other shores. ban or not it's a win for obama & company. what's happening is no coincidence. not even close. for those of you who support this administration and these types of people it's time to wake up. the leash is around your neck too. maybe it isn't tight enough to choke yet but it will be. it's just a matter of time.
So maybe what you're trying to say is... This case should never have been heard by the SCOTUS; it is a States issue and should have been settled by the various states instead? I agree. I think the centralization of power has gone a bit too far. Brion McClanahan's article is a great one. In these united States we are leaning a little too heavily toward the capital U. Sen. Coburn asked if the government had the power to tell us what to eat. How is it any different when a goverment tries to tell us how or with whom to have sex. Whether i agree with the sentiment or not is beside the point. The government that has that power is too powerfull. If I may copy/paste from Ken Conor's article... "I know no safe depository of the ultimate...
