I was unemployed last year for 5 months, recruiters were telling me there were more than 20 qualified people for every job and things were much worse than the govt. was letting on. At a job interview in Chicago I sat on the sidewalk and talked to a homeless guy near where I used to live, he alerted me that at 2pm we could go get a free hot meal, I assumed it was from the govt., but it was from Catholic Charities.

I spent many of my early years working with the "poor" in Chicago, I was making 10 bux/hr, I would deliver on a daily basis to people with 46" tv's that I could not afford working overtime every week. America's poor are mostly overweight, get free rent, foodstamps, free college, free cable internet, free cellphones in some states, free childcare, 1400/mo per child....I've been met with abject hatred because of the color of my skin. You can't just look at someone's income to decide if they're in poverty, you have to look at their expenses, many of these people get poverty level income from the govt. but with all expenses paid it's the best poverty in the world.
