Death by 80,000 cuts.
Unfortunately many bad policies have been in the works since long before () entered the scene. He's just put all bad policy on steriods.
This is true but I believe we are doing a great disservice when we frame this as a First Amendment issue. This is a freedom issue that can be bolstered with the First Amendment. The real issue is by what authority does the government dictate terms of insurance for any party much less any coverage at all? Regardless of any individual or religious affiliation, I do not recognize the governments authority to dictate terms of employment.
Insurance mandates should be scrapped. Minimum wage laws; scrapped. Internship laws; scrapped. The list could go on.
I was very frustrated when the contraception mandate was more of a hot-button topic. As the talking heads argued either for or against the mandate, they always specified whether it was acceptable to issue the mandate to a religious institution. Implied in that argument was that it is acceptable for the government to issue mandates to secular institutions. Now we see this matter being played out. I will take it further. By what authority does the government require any employer to provide insurance to their employees at all? Employment is a contract between two private parties. As long as the terms of that contract does not violate the rights of others, the government has no say on the terms what-so-ever.
Naw. I think they'll leave the muslims alone. Too much in common.

"Do the people who cheer this kind of talk bother to stop and think through what she is saying? Or is heady rhetoric enough for them?" I think you know the answer.

One more possibility. He didn't go because he was afraid of betting booed himself.
Ain't that the truth. And then the poor kids go out into the real world and wonder why life doesn't grade on the same curve.
That's not an argument. Just saying that the dumbing down of our educational system is invading the charter schools as well. Charters are still better than the government schools that students are stuck in.
