How the NRA Stole Christmas

Unless the NRA improves its inept PR campaign and we all get behind the same talking points (the truth) we will lose. 1. So called Assault Weapons are low power rifles that are no faster with aimed fire than most other rifles, shotguns, or handguns. 2. The AR-15 is the most popular rifle in the country because it is an excellent sporting rifle. 3. A magazine limit only hurts honest citizens who want a gun for self defense. 4. The law would ban all of the most popular law enforcement and personal defense handguns in the country. 5. The Clinton ban was a fraud that decreased crime with Assault Weapons by increasing ownership of them. 6. There were only 323 murders with rifles in 2011. 7. Gun Free Zones are actually Safe Murder Zones

A day late and a dollar short best describes the National Rifle Association’s inept response to the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre. As the nation’s most powerful defender of the second amendment (the right to bear arms), the NRA displayed cowardly silence for more than a week following the shooting. Then four days before Christmas, the NRA held ghoulish 30-minute press conference America would have been better off never witnessing.

Contrary to the banners held up by protesters at the event that read “ the NRA kills children,” it doesn’t but the NRA does do VERY bad public relations....
