They didn't return to Africa, Do the math, Britain ended slavery because the French relied on slaves more than the British after 1800 ! Britain was also changing over to an industrialized society that needed to employ its own ppeople and didn't need slavery as much anymore ! Also the Quakers fought it in the British courts and public opinion. The Brits were the most devious-brutal chain-gang-slavemasters, The Americans allowed the slaves to raise families and have a slight bit of self-worth compared to the British criminal-like treatment !
