Unless they get some chiny chest-tin foil, the arm-chair quarterbacks won't be able to compete with REAL HEROES when it comes time for deciding who get's the promotion. In the real-world, that's called "justice". Bur remember- the US military no longer exists to provide the world's most effective fighting force. They're NEW mission, ala Pinetta, is "to provide a level, gender-neutral playing field."
One further note: While Chapman glibly pontificates "Until 2008, the Supreme Court had never interpreted it to protect an individual right to own or use guns for self-defense.", he conveniently omits three crucal facts. First, he deceitfully omits the fact that the question was not even RAISED during the first TWO CENTURIES this country existed. Until the gun grabbers started depriving citizens of their rights , the courts saw no NEED to explain the patently obvious. Second, he cleverly omits the fact that the ruling came in a case which revolved around the notion that private homeowners HAD no Second Amendement right to own a gun. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firearms_Control_Regulations_Act_of_1975
Nor do these laws exist in a vacuum. The government has ALREADY demonstrated a reckless disregard for our liberties and for the Constitutional and legal limits on their authority. Depriving us of our Second Amendment rights is not the first step down a slippery-slope- it is merely one more link in a chain the government has made no pretense about forging and one more in a series of over-reaches and assaults upon the Constitution. Chapman might well consider that before presuming to lecture us about the limits of our Constitutional rights and our suspicion of the State.
While we can all agree that fewer Sandy Hook-type massacres is a laudable public good, NONE of the laws Chapman is shilling would serve that purpose. Contrary to his myth-making, it is not only the Second Amendment that these laws would infringe upon, but also the First, Fourth, and Fifth Amendments. The gun registration, background check, and confiscation proposals violate our rights to privacy, to be secure in our homes and our property, and our protection against unwarranted searches and seizures. By definition, these laws turn private property owners into criminals- and provides no "just recompense" for the property seized by the State.
Chapman- in his role as a RINO and faux conservative (why does Townhall devote so much space to Fifth Columnists?) forgets a number of things about Constitutional rights. First and foremost, ANY restrictions and infringements MUST pass a number of specific tests- not the least of which are that the proposed restriction serve a quantifiable public good, AND that the restriction be the LEAST intrusice method of serving that good. The gun control measurements Chapman is proposing fail on all counts.

More than 2700- all of which died because Harry Reid was obstructing them. You have just condemned the Republicans for committing the very partisanship you claim we need whilst simultaneously exposing Reid and the Democrats as the do-nothing crowd. Well done.. Idiot.

Ayep. Fortunately, we will see the continued repudiation of this nonsense both tomorrow and when President Romney is officially sworn in. In the meantime.....fools deride and trolls below about the presumed evils of the Republicans...

Given the uncritical adoration, desperate willingness to say ANYTHING to wound Romney, and the willful myopia regarding Obama's moral cowardice and myriad failures, it seems that you are projecting your own sins onto others. 16 trillion dollars in debt for ZERO return is the biggest rip-off in American history. ObamaCare is a close second. No- it is your false idol (rather than Christian pastors) who think they can get away with anything. They are now finding out differently- and painfully. Thus the panic among the Obama sycophants.
