Obama's Climate of Fear

I know a woman who was a child in Germany during World War II. She said that no one was allowed to listen to any other news than official broadcasts. As a result, up to the moment she heard the roar of American cannon in the neighboring village, she thought Germany was winning the war.

The moral of the story is that if you conservatives read only the vitriol flowing from the pens of radical, conservative pundits who make a living pandering to your worse fears, you may come to have an equally distorted view of reality.

It seems to me that Mr. Kennedy is the one doing his best to create a climate of fear. It seems to me there is a good living to be made from fear mongering these days. So many conservative writers are into it.

Obama and his spokesmen have repeatedly cited the customer by customer personal approach of community banks as the ideal way to avoid a repetition of the current crisis. The major thrust of proposed new regulations is directed at instituions deemed to be too big to fail. The secondary thrust is to protect consumers from fraud. All I ever see is the usual crap.
a. Obama bad
B. Obama communist
C. Obama dictator
C. Obama take guns
D. Obama bow
and sometimes ominous threats about taking back the country.
I suggest a revolutionary, socialist idea, Think.
It would be more fun if there were some grown ups here to talk with.
Bye, Bye.

Recently the king of hardball diplomacy, Henry Kissinger compared Obama's foreign policy manoeuvres to a chess master playing simultaneous games.
Some Russian analysts think their leaders were completely outplayed. Read an account of their thinking and quotes from the Moscow Times at http://politicalscalpel.blogspot.com.
Perhaps Mr. Krauthammer is out of his depth. After reading the full account in the Russian paper, I realized that one of the games Mr Obama is playing is against the neocons like Mr. Krauthammer.
By the way Biden is not just shooting of his mouth. (Israel's right of self defense, not subject to US veto.) He is a powerful piece on the board pointed at Iran.
