The GOP needed a strong showing in this debate, as the next debate will be Obama's solely by the nature of the format - the Town Hall. In that format, O can get up and wander the stage, reach out to the audience, and 'connect' with the voters, which is all he can do. The Town Hall debates are truly American Idol shows, and this country now elects presidents based on their showmanship and offensiveness. Ryan blew a great opportunity by not calling Biden out as being a spoiled brat, by not exposing his and his boss' shallowness. Now the real show will begin.

Well, at least Joe Biden helped Obama keep one campaign promise: He certainly changed the tone of our political debate last night.  Too bad he took it to a disrespectful new low.  Watch and be appalled.  (HT: Correspondent Doug for the Batman reference; update: Jim Geraghty's got it, too -- must be a guy thing?!):
