I would have liked this article better Senator if you had stated the 2nd amendment is codified as a RIGHT so the people have the tools by which they can replace a gov't gone rogue as the Declaration of Independence states. Acoording to that document it is not only our RIGHT to do so but our DUTY to do so..Obama and his communist regime are bent on taking that RIGHT away so as to turn this nation into nothing more than a another seat at the UN table. Your colleagues like feinstein and schumer would assist him in that treasonous endeavor. People like them are a joke and have no place in the US Senate.

There are certain people and groups that have no "right" to be in this nation. Absent them and this country would have gun crime statistics equal to that of Canada, Sweden and Denmark rather than that equal to Congo.

A point I would wholeheartedly agree with..WHY are the rules that governed our LEGAL immigrant grandparents and which are posted at Ellis Island, not being enforced on this bunch today? I find it offensive that MY people are discussed in the same breath as these illegal criminal aliens. Ours were deported for being found "on the dole", they could not be a "public burden", yet these people are sucking us dry and offered in state tuition when they ought not be here in the first place.

I wonder how many of "these people" understand the consequences to befall them should ever their actions trigger a second Civil War?

The consequences would be some 50 million casualties with half this count being deaths. Once concluded this nation would never suffer them again with survivors returned to their 'roots'.

A secondary consequence would be the shuttering of the democrat "party".. a reckless pandering escapade that morphed to what it has become today since the time of hippies (their 'roots").

As Congress prepares to consider new gun control legislation, I stand firmly against any attempt to restrict the constitutional rights of responsible, law-abiding gun owners. As a concealed weapons permit holder, I value the freedom to exercise my Second Amendment right as protected by the Constitution and in accordance with gun laws designed to promote safe, responsible use. The right to bear arms is a unique and fundamental aspect of American liberty because, when exercised responsibly and in accordance with the laws in place, it makes our families and our property safer.
