Nothing has really changed though. Obama has no mandate, as he barely squeaked by to win. The house is still heavily Republican, and although the Senate picked up a few more Dem. seats, they can't pass anything until it gets through the House first. If anything, we're looking at four more years of malaise, unemployment, disinvestment and atrophy brought on by an obtuse and myopic electorate. If the day comes when the economy collapses and the dollar is worthless, the Obama supporters can all stand up and say they did their part.

You know who won the election (or whether we face another Florida 2000), and as I write I don't.

But whether Barack Obama is re-elected to a second term or Mitt Romney is elected the 45th president, the contours of their support during this fiercely fought campaign show that we live in Two Americas.
