When Americans travel abroad, you stereotypically hear stories (often not true) about how rude we are, how we look down on other cultures, etc. Yet, when people come here, the exact same behavior is praised. We're expected to adapt to other cultures when we visit (which I think is a perfectly reasonable expectation) but we're expected to accomodate visitors who DON'T adapt to ours.
