...suggest that it’s subtle racism for a white person to look a “person of color” in the eye when talking to them.

Take a good look at commercials and you will notice the disappearance of white males.

Denzel Washington is a good actor and a plss poor American.

Really? In "Training Day" Denzel Washington played a racist cop who tried to get his white partner killed and/or framed for his own crimes/corruption- not a good role model.

These few examples are the exception not the rule.

Most advertising these days features only white males doing stupid things while the in the commercial are the ones that are cool or have it together. The NFL shop ad with the whiny white guy living in his mom's basement trying to speak to a black NFL player is an example. Any of the drunk driving commercials show only white males placed in the back of cop cars. The best is the ad for the college savings plan in which four white couples have zero clue on how to save for college or how to even start but the one black couple has it all figured out and lectures them on how to do it. The overt racism screams once you start to notice these things.

Well, that's not really true. Denzel Washington was totally excellent in "Training Day" (if you haven't seen it, I really recommend it). There are many other examples as well. And I think we must also notice that the majority of the heroes in TV shows and movies are white males too.

There is a different sort of racialist derangement spreading in the country -- and it is getting ugly.

Here is actor Jamie Foxx joking recently about his new movie role: "I kill all the white people in the movie. How great is that?" Reverse white and black in the relevant ways and even a comedian would hear national outrage. Instead, his hip "Saturday Night Live" audience even gave Foxx applause.

Race-obsessed comedian Chris Rock tweeted on the Fourth of July, "Happy white peoples (sic) independence day ..."

Actor Samuel L. Jackson, in a recent interview, sounded about as unapologetically reactionary as...
