25% yikes! I was thinking 1-2%, it should be based on what the poorest can afford, no exemptions for anyone. Anything over 10% is immoral. This is why we conservatives always loose we propose something we think is reasonable and then have it compromised. What’s the compromise for a 25% tax, 30%? At that rate people will say it’s too much of a burden on the poor and then the debate begins on income thresholds and here we go again. Before you know it we will have deductions, credits, refunds and the whole ugly mess we have now.
