I think your article is the kernel of truth needed as a rallying cry for the Republicans when it comes to taxes. In essence they should argue that money in the private sector produces wealth, whereas money in the public sector produces waste. Rand Paul's rant at the "hearing" was brilliant, its unfortunate though that in government we can count the true defenders of the Republic on one hand.

Bravo LoyalDem, this is indeed the mentality we are up against. I do not think the rank and file Dems believe that it's Ok to let millions in the third world die, rather I think they just deny it's happening or refute the cause.
I believe that this was a top down directive, but that does not exonerate the low level lackeys. Do you think the low level IRS workers would have remained dutifully silent if they were asked to target black, Latino or Muslim groups? They not only would not have tolerated that they would rightfully expect a full ticker-tape parade for blowing the whistle. I image that when the extra scrutiny directive came down that the IRS workers said to themselves, "Target TEA party racists and other "code word" hate groups, no problem!"

...and the beat goes on, or should I say the beating. Will we ever hear these numbers trumpeted by the feckless Republicans, don't hold your breath. The Demorats will see these appalling statistics as a correct indication that they're winning. On the bright side, just think how much safer we are now than when we only had 173,000 pages of regulations, how did we ever survive that wild west?

Tyranny is no Longer 'Lurking'

There should be an emergency resolution to immediately cut the IRS budget and staff by 20% pending a review of the agency. In one year a hearing should be convened to review any violations of the people’s inalienable rights since the agency’s inception. If it is found that the IRS has a history of repeated violations of the people’s rights then the agency should be declared subversive and abolished. Then we move on to the EPA, DHS, HHS, the Commerce Department and the rest. But this proposal is predicated on two incorrect assumptions; first, that the government actually wants to solve problems and second, that politicians care one whit about the rights of the people. An additional aside, flat taxes should be discussed starting at 1% not 17%. If the federal is 17% then you add state and local you are close to 40% which is tyranny. A national sales tax should be no greater than 1% for the same reason.

Although I applaud Mr. Thomas' points and I'm glad someone is finally offering the only real solution, I fear that all you say DH in undeniably true. We are being pulled deeper into tyranny as irresistibly as gravity on a falling object. Many independent factors are unconsciously working in concert to make it happen; political correctness, white guilt, pop culture, poor education, female dominance, broken families, illegal immigration, the military being used as sociopolitical indoctrination centers and the vilification of technological and economic progress. For all these reasons we should not fight a defensive battle but only make bold proposals and radical changes toward the Constitution, if you're going down, go down swinging.

I wish that were true, I happen to know a major banking corporation who pays their "Diversity Manager" $250K a year plus a $20K bonus this year. Think about the implied work someone with the title "Diversity Manager" is expected to do. Grievance studies majors can also find lucrative homes in government and universities.
And we need all this unskilled, non-English speaking labor why, to work in our factories? If that’s the case send them to China where the factories are. On the one hand we are taxing and regulating industry in this country as if we are still productive and prosperous while simultaneously filling our barrios with third world peasants who have no labor market to enter. Also who will teach these newly minted citizens about the American way, the constitution, free enterprise; the same government who targets the TEA party?

Political correctness has made modern day America a racial caste system. Obama is above the law, pure and simple, and the Republicans know it. Any talk of impeachment against Obama brings both the scarlet letter of racism and the threat of riots and burning cities. In essence we now live in a post-constitutional America where mobs rule. We fear black riots so we suffer a corrupt President, we fear Latino protests so we enslave ourselves to a third world invasion, we fear Muslim anger so we soft peddle terrorism; it begs the question what’s the end state?

Nixon had something Obama will never have, shame. Nixon resigned in disgrace but Obama knows that the color of his skin and the threat of riots will keep him forever inoculated against any scandal.
