"The customer must always come first." Wrong. This is NOT true in the field of opinion consumption and editorial policy. SI is just another news media outlet that uses its voice to promote the beliefs and opinions of its masters in an attempt to influence its consumers. The "free press" has always been thus, and, hopefully, always will remain so. You don't like SI's editorial slant, then start your own sports rag and tell the stories your way.

Sports Illustrated has come to my mailbox for nearly 40 years. I hope it comes for 40 more. But I also hope whomever is assigning the stories in the future begins to think more about the readers than their political and social agendas.
