Too many of the liberals I speak with are convinced (wrongly) that the only time any problem gets addressed and solved, are when the politicians in Washington do something about it. For example, I mentioned health care in Houston TX (Harris County). The poor and indigent go to Ben Taub hospital, operated and maintained by the Harirs County Hospital District. He stated, that without the federal funding to the HCHD, Ben Taub would not be able to do anything. I had no idea the feds were paying anything, but I guess they put in something. Yes, the feds ARE the crack pipe of the funding of our country, and the sooner we get clean, the better we will be.

For the conservative willing to endure it, President Obama’s State of the Union address was actually a handy lesson in how the left garners support for barrages of spending.

As such, it is also a guide for how to argue against it.
