Just follow the Constitution & balance the budget. That's not too abstract, it's simple. If the Constitution does not specifically authorize the Federal Government to do something, eliminate it from the budget. If the States want some things continued, they can run it on the State level. Some things like Social Security & Medicare will have to be phased out on a Federal level.

Dozens of explanations have been offered by people who think they are savvy about politics to explain why Mitt Romney lost and Barack Obama was reelected despite his many unlawful actions and the high unemployment figures.
