You pay taxes on items you purchase or when you earn income. But with Obamacare you are being TAXED for NOT purchasing their product. If this type of tax for not purchasing something is allowed to continue there will be other things that the government will try to tax you for for NOT purchasing.
The question is how long are the Democrats themselves going to keep their heads in the sand and keep supporting this UNaffordable care act?
Some of the reasons why Obamacare insurance is so expensive is the government forces every American to be covered for things they possibly don’t need (people who don’t drink are covered for alcohol counseling, people who can’t have babies are covered for maternity coverage). Also there are no caps on the coverage. Last year insurance companies generally put anywhere from 3 to 6 million lifetime caps per person. This year there are no caps so technically a person could run up bills of 10 million, 20 million or more. A solution to this insanity is to allow individuals to OPT OUT of the coverages they will never use and allow individuals to select policies that have lower lifetime caps (similar to the choices you get when you buy auto insurance). Also the Obamacare subsidy scheme is totally based on income and not on healthcare needs. So a young single person who does not need much healthcare and who makes little money gets his Obamacare insurance policy for next to nothing (courtesy of the taxpayers). While, on the other hand, a hard-working middle class family who needs lots of healthcare but makes more money (and thus pays taxes) will NOT get healthcare because their deductibles have doubled and tripled over what they had before. These changes, plus allowing insurers to sell across state lines to increase competition, can help get our premiums down so we all don’t end up going to the poor house paying for a product that we cannot even use let alone afford. .
