The problem is two fold and simple: The Left controls the branding, so that Conservative Republicans can be labeled as something they're not, and second, too many Repubs are not really conservative. The entire Leftmedia propaganda campaign has to be defeated, and to do that you have to have rock solid conservatives who cannot be pushed off message or go squishy. The message on immigration is simple too: we can solve all the illegal immigrant problems once we 1) Control our border (i.e enforce existing law instead of suing those who enforce it) and 2) change immigration policy so that we are allowing immigration advantageous to the USA.
