#3 continued. The simple fact is that since the Great Society, we have dumbed down our society as a whole. We have a culture of dependency both by the providers and the partakers. It is no wonder why JOBS have been outsourced to third world countries when one takes in consideration the available human resources and the over burdensome government regulations and control. In my humble opinion, the only solution, is to not only radically change with Welfare for the individual and corporations, but at the same time change over to a more viable educational system with vocational training. A system that is fair for all and not focused on a racial or gender component of our society.

The theme that most seemed to rouse the enthusiasm of delegates to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte was that we are all responsible for one another -- and that Republicans don't want to help the poor, the sick and the helpless.

All of us should be on guard against beliefs that flatter ourselves. At the very least, we should check such beliefs against facts.

Yet the notion that people who prefer economic decisions to be made by individuals in the market are not as compassionate as people who prefer those decisions to be made collectively by politicians is...
