This is no lie. Obama knows this, it is questionable if Romney does. If we were to radically end Welfare as we know it today, it would put millions out of work who are employed in these various agencies, it would also let loose on society the remaining 74% of young people mentioned below. When Romney or anybody talks about creating jobs, I would like to know where they are going to get the workers. I am NOT an Obama supporter so, please don't read into this post otherwise. I am merely pointing out a simple fact. To be continued.

The theme that most seemed to rouse the enthusiasm of delegates to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte was that we are all responsible for one another -- and that Republicans don't want to help the poor, the sick and the helpless.

All of us should be on guard against beliefs that flatter ourselves. At the very least, we should check such beliefs against facts.

Yet the notion that people who prefer economic decisions to be made by individuals in the market are not as compassionate as people who prefer those decisions to be made collectively by politicians is...
