Why are both parties now wanting to renege on something they both agreed to? What is this country's fascination with kicking the can down the road? Why not have a day of reckoning like Greece, Spain, Ireland, Portugal, etc. have had?
Just like Rush Limbaugh said...they voted for Santa Claus! Only 39% of the country favors amnesty. I will not support politicians or parties that support law breaking and not enforcing our laws. The GOP would commit SUICIDE with its base if it did amnesty. I know I would probably stay home in 2014. Lindsey "I'm a goofball" "Grahamnesty" is not getting my vote. What is the GOP going to do next to get votes - agree with taking work out of welfare? Personally, long-term, if nothing changes, the GOP is going to fade away on a national level I think. Amnesty would only hasten that as it would alienate the base and add even more voters for the freebies.
+1
If Rubio runs in 2016, unless he backpedals on amnesty, the conservative base will not support him. He will not be conservative enough. He's not experienced enough, probably, but a Latino candidate such as Ted Cruz might be different as he is anti-amnesty. A candidate such as Rubio might help with Florida and Northeastern Hispanics, but I don't know how much influence he would have with the Mexican-American electorate found in the Southwest. I personally do not think changing immigration stance or granting amnesty will have much effect with Latinos and the GOP. It didn't help Bush Sr. after the Reagan amnesty, and the conservative base of the GOP would destroy those who favored it. I agree with Rush Limbaugh...Santa Claus.

At least he's a conservative Dem.
But I was called a RINO for saying Ras was an outlier...
And I thought the polls were oversampling Democrats??
Neither did I.
Exactly. I kept getting called a RINO for saying PA, MI, and MN weren't in play.
Oh, and I'm still trying to figure out how the GOP picked up more House seats yet lost the presidency. I would have expected the GOP to lose some seats. I was surprised at how close OH was. I thought Romney would have done way better in FL.
I'm a Republican, and voted for Romney, and expected a loss, but not on this level. I've been saying Romney would not win PA, WI, MI, NV, MN, etc. but kept getting called a RINO. The Senate losses are disappointing. We can't keep nominating these far right-wingers like Akin and Mourdock. Just like Sharron Angle and Christine O'Donnell. MO should have been a piece of cake pickup and IN should have been a solid hold. Now, who knows when the GOP will get the Senate. I think this country deserves exactly what it gets in the next 4 years.
