America has not shifted left as they would have you believe. When the GOP puts up liberals and calls them conservatives we are not fooled and did not vote for them. It's all pretty simple. When a true conservative candidate arises you will see a surge of conservatism that will wash the red tide of the liberal/progressive/socialist out to sea never to be heard from again except at their trials for treason.
For the first time, I am wondering about the long-term viability of the Republican Party. I say this not as an advocate of its demise or restructuring but as an observer of troubling signs.
