Republicans Do Have Leverage; Use It!

We keep lamenting the fact that Reagan isn't around to articulate our position. While I don't envy the position John Boehner is in, this is the job he signed on for! Does anyone really think he is the one who can school a predominantly ignorant public on basic economics? Granted, it is an uphill fight when you have the waste stream media and the late night comedians working overtime to distort your message, there has to be someone out there with the charisma and wit to get the point across. Someone, somewhere.... Ronnie how could you leave us?????

As you say, whomever would take the job would be pilloried mercilessly and there are very few with both the charisma and thick skin to perform such a miracle.

At this stage of the fiscal cliff pseudo negotiations, do the American people have any idea what the Republicans stand for other than to protect the wealthy and cut Medicare and Social Security to harm the sick and aged?

People constantly invoke Ronald Reagan, but one thing is certain and very relevant: If Reagan were on the national stage today, the public would not be confused about what the Republican Party stands for and why it matters.

The GOP is having difficulty even consolidating around a central message, much less selling it to the public. There is no excuse for that.
