Bob Costas and the Media Miss the Real Problem

Mud on the Tires hit the nail on the head. Whitlock should be taken to the woodshed. He ignores the 800 pound gorilla in the room. Whoever said that these athletes haven't heard the word "no," in years is correct. The only male role model that some of these men know is the "coach." How many were raised in a home with a father and mother who were married? No gun fires itself. Someone pulls the trigger. Costas and Whitlock in their rants once again ignore personal responsibility of the individual. Put the blame anywhere but where it truly belongs. Hypocrites, both of them. Both need to stick to sports.

Bob Costas, an admitted ignoramus on the issue of the Second Amendment, chose halftime in a nationally broadcast football game to infect the world with his uneducated opinion on gun rights.

Speaking about Jovan Belcher, the NFL player who killed his girlfriend then committed suicide, Costas missed the point completely – as did the equally ignorant sports columnist Jason Whitlock. It wasn’t “loose gun laws” that sparked this tragedy. If anything, it had to do with how we treat celebrities.

Costas and Whitlock have the right to their opinions – and the Democrat Media Complex has the right to amplify...
