Remember when O didn't want to wear an American flag pin, he stated that he didn't want it to appear like he was taking sides?? Well he probably ensured that the invocation didn't mention God for the same reason.....he didn't want it to appear like he was taking sides in the eternal war against absolute evil.

We can at least say that the man is consistent. On the other hand, this is the first time in presidential inaugural history where the invocation was given by a non-clergy member. "Progress."
