The problem with cutting $500 billion is just that: cut $500 billion from the budget instead of looking at the issue like this: What can we shut down and where can we consolidate. Imagine if we applied BRAC to all aspects of the military and not just Installations. In addition to that, tell Our Allies that They we are going to cut back and that They need to step to the plate and pay more. Even a 20% reduction will yield nice savings. Some wont like it, but when We are at risk of imploding, it will have to do.
