This weeks obvious winner of the... "John Ransom's Boot So Far Up His Poop Chute It Has To Be Surgically Removed Award"...... The TreeFrog from down under. If for no other reason, the sheer quantity of boots having been deposited. LOL!!

SA68,

Within your comment resides the problem. Many people on this site who exhibit great hostility toward those taking a pro-environmental position about anything, be it global warming, fracking, or mercury pollution, are utterly uninformed.

You just re-branded the poster calling himself Canetoad as TreeFrog. Anyone who knows anything about herpetology knows a cane toad is a huge (sometimes over 5 lbs.) TERRESTRIAL toad which could no more climb a tree than could a Rottweiller.

Cute ericelsnot, so now that we all know you like to play with frogs.....Tell us, is it true or an old wives tale about a toad urinating on your hands when you're holding them will cause warts to pop up on them? ROTFLMBO!!

Actually, SA, you've even got the old wives' tale wrong. Ignorant folk used to think that simply handling a toad would give one warts.

Question: what' up with calling other posters "cute" names. Ericelsnot? That's how little kids behave. When I was 8, I was sometimes called Eric the Electric Eel. And now, at 63, I have someone, presumably an adult, acting the same way. It's very curious behavior. And it makes me wonder how our democracy will survive if the people responsible for operating and funding it act like they're in grade school.

ericynot,

Within your comment resides the problem. Many people on this site (and elsewhere) who exhibit great hostility toward those who question their pro-environmental position about anything, be it global warming (well within historical norms for an interglacial period), fracking (an entirely manufactured scare), mercury pollution (emissions have fallen by more than half in the US over the last two decades) are utterly uninformed.

And one version of the old wives take DOES involve toad urine.

It would in fact be a simple, straightforward calculation. In statistics, it's called the mean of sampling means. The weakness of such a statistic is that the enormous variability in the data far exceeds the variability in that number. Even the 90 % confidence interval would be much larger than the variations in that average, making it useless from a practical standpoint. - Al Gore Warming

Dear Moon,

I think we are talking about two different things,...
