You Might Be A Fascist If… 2. You believe in the rule of the few, election rigging, political decisions being made by a select group of officials behind closed doors, embrace the informal and unregulated exercise of political power, arbitrary deprivation of civil liberties, and little tolerance for meaningful opposition. Sounds just like the Tea Party led Republican Party, doesn't it?

Who here remembers what "judicial activism" is? The Republicans play this card whenever those "evil libs" overthrow long accepted laws like those "Jim Crow" laws back in the 1950's. Mouth-peices of the Republican party are quick to say that laws, passed by Congress, implmented the will of the people. Thwarting the "will of the people" was the road to Fascism. Who elected the Supreme Court Republicans will ask? Now, these Republicans are drooling and slobbering over the possibility of Obamacare being overturned. Republicans are, once again, showing their Fascist proclivities.

One of the things our armed forces, and as a nation have prided ourselves in is that we do not torture. When you wrap a man's head in Saran wrap, so that he cannot breathe through his nose, then punch a quarter sized hole where his mouth is, then start pouring water into his mouth so that he has to breathe in water to live- What is that? What has happened to us as a nation when we have major political figures who find this moral? Bachman and Cheney believe its not torture unless you do it until the victim has "organ failure". Cheney got 5 college deferments, never served and Bachman also was never in the military.

For the first time I am afraid of what can happen in our politics. You have Cain and Perry each of which have said that God called them to be president. Then you have this crazy born again Evangelical who wants to lead us in her version of the bible. Crazy fanatical Evangelicals and Born Agains will lead us right into war with the Muslim World. . And why, well to fulfill God's promise to the Israelites, that they will have the land that we call the West Bank but that they call Sumaria and Judea. Don't let these crazies with their dreams and hopes and belief that the rapture and Armageddon will come as soon as prophesy is fulfilled have anything to do with foreign policy or diplomacy.

When Waterboarding is acceptable, any moral superiority that the US has claimed becomes a joke. and is gone period. Who chooses who gets water boarded. Bachmann or is it an enlisted guy in Afghanistan, or is it a local cop who thinks he may have just arrested a child molester? What has happened to the "Moral Majority", the so called "Christian Right"? They seem to love the idea of waterboarding and make no moral distinction regarding it. Bamboo slivers driven under the fingernails is also a good "interrogation technique" Cheney would call it "Enhanced Interrogation". Its like calling an atomic bomb a "fireworks display".

As I understand it, Democrats have agreed to entitlement reforms if Republicans will agree to tax increases, a course of action most citizens recognize as necessary to achieve deficit reduction and spur the economy. Yet Republicans won't budge, are apparently stuck either in their ideology or in pledges to their big money supporters, or both. I'm an independent, view the Democrats as a party that can't seem to get out of its own way, yet have no use for Republicans. They seem to have but two goals: personal greed and destroying the country.

What really boggles my mind is the huge outlays for military and defense spending. I remember scratching my head when days after the 9-11 attacks, and the White House at that time said there was no connection to Saddam Hussein, yet somehow there was already talk of an invasion to Iraq. Amazing how some defense contractors, for example Halliburton, quadrupled its share price after the invasion of Iraq. I think Washington is ridden with con men and the disingenuous, who really have very little regard for what happens to the long term fiscal health of our nation and its citizens.
