Dr. Sowell, I share your frustration. I have read your books and articles for decades and you never seem to get any traction with facts. I think we both know why. It’s not for lack of visibility. It’s your colleagues in the Philosophy schools that have taught generations of students that reality is a construct, derived from introspection. For them reference to an external reality is irrelevant. *True understanding* can only be found in revelation. Therefore, all the fuss about actual results is silly; they only need look inside themselves to see what is true. All those tired, worn out, trite, solutions that we see as failures look as fresh as a new born baby. Until we change this mode of thinking nothing will persuade them.
There is no question that liberals do an impressive job of expressing concern for blacks. But do the intentions expressed in their words match the actual consequences of their deeds?
